First Post! How to save some money when buying Make-up!!

Hi everyone!
Hope your week is going well.
What I wanted to make my first post about is how to save a few bucks on makeup.
lets face it, beauty products are not cheap!
Ive spent sooo much money that I dont even want to think about.
I've learn a few ways to try new things without buying the actual product.

Samples!!

Samples can be a girl's best-friend!
I remember when I was younger, how shy I was to ask for samples.
Now I cant get enough of them!
Whenever we see a new product, we usually are tempted to buy
without knowing if we will really like it or not.
Usually I get my Samples from Sephora, they are awesome for that. Plus you get to try High-end brands!
For us Canadians we have Shoppers Drug Mart, Sears, rexall and the bay.
Become friends with the Girls that work at these stores, and trust me they will hook you upp!!

Another great way to try out products is, get into Monthly Subscriptions!

Birchbox (US only)

Loosebutton (Canada)

If you haven't herd about these, you should give it a try!

"helps you find products that you'll love. Try our monthly subscription service, explore our personalized shop, or start with our editor tips and tricks." - birchbox
Basically you make an account, answer a few questions about your skin type, hair, colour, etc.
they customize a box just for you, send it in the mail in an adorable package,
and you can to try deluxe size samples and full size products.
You do have to pay a monthly fee, but worth it.
I recommend trying:

  • Birchbox (US only)  An awesome why to try new products & they also have Subscriptions for men. $10 a month (free Shipping). Has full size shopping on their site. Collect rewards!
  • Loose Button (Canada) A seasonal subscription, receive 4 boxes a year. Each box is about $26(free shipping). Can receive monthly Flare magazine subscription (great bonus), plus you can get full size products.
  • ipsy (US & Canada) receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. $10 a month (free US shipping, $5 Canadian Shipping).
  • Julep Maven (US & Canada) Monthly Nail polish Subscription. Receive up to 5-6 products for $20 a month. 20% off there website, and has a referral program. (first time is free with coupon code)!

Lastly... buy Palettes/Makeup SETS!

Sometimes I get so mad at myself when I go buy an
eye-shadow or lipstick that's over $20!!
Now a days I only check for Combination sets, palettes, etc.
Sephora and ulta is great for that.
Yes some sets sound pricey, but once you do the math ...it's cheaper than buying individual.
Plus some products will never run out, so sometimes its better to buy sets with small versions.

So these are the some of the ways I save a few bucks!
Have you gone to gone to any of these stores lately?
Are you enrolled in other Monthly subscriptions?
I'd love to know !!
Thanks for reading :)
